U.K.'s DAMNATION FESTIVAL Returning In October
March 24, 2009The U.K.'s Damnation Festival will return to Leeds this October following the sold-out success of last year's showcase.
The festival — voted the "Best Event of 2008" in Britain by readers of Terrorizer magazine — will be hosted at Leeds University Union on Saturday, October 24.
And with a longer day planned, more bands and fewer clashes between the three stages it promises to be the biggest and most exciting edition yet.
Festival director Gavin McInally said: "Each year we've strengthened the event and improved the line-up and the fans have supported us from our daunting first year at Jilly's in Manchester to a sold-out 3,500 capacity day of metal mayhem in Leeds which witnessed the triumphant return of CARCASS in November.
"To try to re-pay that support, this year doors will open from 1:00 p.m., which will allow more bands across our three diverse stages and where we can, we will avoid clashes to allow fans to get the most out of the day.
"As always, the tickets will be kept to a bare minimum cost although there will be no expense spared in dragging the best in death, thrash, grind, black, doom, experimental and straight-up heavy rock and metal from across the globe to take the stage at Damnation.
"With an exciting U.K. comeback show, death metal favourites, post-rock genius and a heavy dose of rock action already on the cards, it's going to be quite a lineup."
Tickets will be available from all usual outlets including See, Ticketline and Leeds Tickets.
